This online activity teaches children (8 years +) how to create drawings for laser cutter using Inkscape software, with help from our guides. The activity consists of three, 90-minute workshops!

The first session (3 workshops) will take place on Saturday mornings: January 9, 16 and 23, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Would you like to make something beautiful, but you’re not very good with your hands? We can help! Let our laser cutter do the work for you.
In this series of three workshops, our guides will help you learn how to use free Inkscape software to create drawings for laser cutting. Each workshop gives you the chance to explore creation techniques. At the end of the third workshop, you can send us a basic design, and we’ll laser cut it and send it to you by mail. No artistic talent required! If you enjoy the activity and would like to continue to explore and take on more complex projects, we encourage you to become a member of the Fab Lab, which gives access to all our machines and mentors.
All you need is a computer, a mouse and the free Inkscape software installed on your computer. Materials and delivery included.
***Design size is limited to the size of a large (package-type) envelope. Additional charges will apply for creations larger than the specified dimensions.
