Jacques Villeneuve’s Ski-Doo® Formula 1 snowmobile
Snowmobile
1985
Racing driver Jacques Villeneuve rode this snowmobile during the 1985–1986 season. It was designed specifically for oval track racing.
This snowmobile is fitted with 19 cm (7.5 in) twin tracks and a differential system to disengage the left track while turning, which provides optimal stability and speed. The low centre of gravity and left-side driving position also improve handling during sharp turns.
What makes this machine perfect for racing? It boasts a lightweight design, complete with an aluminum chassis and a hood made from fibreglass and Kevlar®. It was truly destined for victory.
