Originally designed as utility vehicles, Bombardier snowmobiles were quickly adopted by the winter tourism industry. For example, by the late 1950s, Yellowstone National Park in the United States had acquired a fleet of snowmobiles, known as Snow Coaches.
As illustrated in this promotional poster, these powerful and robust vehicles offered park visitors the opportunity to admire spectacular landscapes that would otherwise be difficult to access. Unfortunately, declining snowfall over the years, along with the growing challenges associated with maintaining snowmobiles, gradually led to their removal from the park around 2016.
