Chip bag

1968
This value-sized bag of chips from 1968 is made from thin metal foil. At the time, one bag cost only 49 cents! The Canadian company Shirriff, widely known today for its pie fillings and pudding mixes, partnered with Bombardier Limited in 1968 for a special raffle. Each bag of chips contained a participation coupon to win a 1969 Ski-Doo® Olympique 12/3 snowmobile. In total, five snowmobiles were drawn among participants in Ontario and Quebec.
Fun fact: At the time, snowmobiles were called “autoneiges” rather than “motoneiges” in French, as evidenced by the participation coupon found in each bag.
