Photograph of a forest camp
Iconographic document
Circa 1950
This photograph (70 cm long by 20 cm high) perfectly illustrates how the panoramic format was used in the 1950s to capture memories of groups or landscapes.
It was taken in the middle of winter at a Val-d’Or forest camp, where a group of men proudly posed in front of their vehicles. On the right, we can see 3 B12 snowmobiles beside 3 TN trucks. Our records indicate that only 16 TN trucks were sold in Abitibi from 1950 to 1952, which makes this scene even more remarkable.
