Bombardier Limited sold the Elite Ski-Doo® Snowmobile, a side-by-side snowmobile, from 1973 to 1982. The two-seater vehicle design was a major innovation. In the early 2000s, the R&D Department at the Bombardier Recreational Products division brought back the two-seater concept to develop the Elite 2000 prototype. This led to the revamped Elite side-by-side series, released to the market in 2004 and 2005.
