Ski-Doo® Chalet Prototype
Snowmobile
1964
Joseph-Armand Bombardier designed this snowmobile specifically for his wife, Yvonne Labrecque. The vehicle was very lightweight, thanks to its welded aluminum chassis and fiberglass hood. The Chalet, a longer version of the AR 64 model, joined the line of Ski-Doo® snowmobiles available for purchase by the general public in 1964-1965. Unlike the vehicle designed for Ms. Labrecque, the commercial model’s one-piece chassis was made of steel.
