Snowmobile soap
Promotional item
1972
In 1972, Ski-Doo® dealers were sent a catalogue entitled Gadgets Ski-Doo, which featured a peculiar piece of merchandise measuring only 8 centimetres long—a snowmobile-shaped bar of soap. It was fashioned to look like the iconic 1972 TN’T® model.
The bars were sold in packs of twelve for only ten cents per unit and used as a sale incentive. In fact, they were marketed as the perfect Christmas stocking stuffer.
To top it off, this soap was packaged with the clever slogan Clean up with Ski-Doo, cleverly suggesting that it would “wash away the competition.”
