Postcard : New Hampshire snowmobile race
Iconographic document
1969
This postcard was printed by Rudy’s Wholesale Distributors in the United States. According to the caption on the back, it represents a “skimobile” championship in New Hampshire. This term is an interesting twist on the more commonly known word “snowmobile.”
On the picture, we can see a team of Ski-Doo® pilots driving T’NT snowmobiles, a model that earned the nickname “Black Dot” due to the black circle on it’s hood. The racers were hot on the heels of their opponents, who drove Arctic Cat® Panther® snowmobiles.
Frozen in time, this snapshot reflects the fierce competition that reigned on snowmobile tracks decades ago.
