M35 truck pin
Promotional item
Circa 1983
This pin depicts the M35 truck, popularly known as the army’s “battle horse.” It’s made from brass and captures the essence of this heavy-duty truck, despite being only 2.7 centimetres long.
The M35 truck boasts a 2.5-ton capacity and a V8 engine, which means it has 8 cylinders and runs on diesel. In 1981, Bombardier Inc. secured a contract to produce trucks for Canadian Forces troops. These trucks were assembled at the Valcourt plant under licence from AM General. Based on the 1988 annual report, a total of 2,767 trucks were built.
